Big News

I made this card using the Friday Sketchers sketch and ended up adding a couple more challenges to it - Lili of the Valley and Colour Create.

I really liked the sketch from Friday Sketchers, I may not have done the center portion right but think that it turned out pretty good. I used a digital elephant from Pink Petticoat that I fell in love with when I saw it and used Pink and Grey for the Colour Create challenge. There are three brads, two different paper colors and one flower for the Lili of the Valley challenge. This card has a coordinating envelope made of pink on the outside and grey on the inside. It was made using the Wild Card cart.

Frog Friend

I made this card for four different challenges. I think this is the most for one card yet! Card a licious challenge is a green friend card with ribbon. Arty Girlz challenge is wire. Daring Card Makers is a fish or frog. Papertake Weekly provided the sketch.

I used a frog stamp and green paper with orange in it. I just love this wild paper and have to use every sheet that I have. As usual, I am not sure of the brand of paper but it is good stock. I used some glittered leaves, wire, flowers, buttons, fiber ribbon and the friends for ever from my stash. I colored the frog with Prisma watercolor pencils.

Life is Good - Relax

I made this card for the BBTB (Regina - I know your blog address by heart - does that tell you anything? :) ), House Mouse and Pink Elephant challenges. The card doesn't say Happy Mother's Day (House Mouse)but could be given to any special woman on any day. I do not celebrate holidays so I always try to make my cards fitting for any reason to give a card. The layout is from the Pink Elephant.

I used a house mouse stamp sitting in the tub and relaxing and my new Graphically Speaking cart that I just received this afternoon. I used the Life is Good for the BBTB challenge and used some vines from my Storybook cart, also received today. I used Prisma Watercolors to color the stamp and used the pups cart for Relax. I used a light burgundy color for the papers but unsure of the brands.

BBTB Challenge and ABC

I made this card for two challenges - BBTB challenge which is to use the letter B from the Cricut Alphalicious cart and the ABC challenge which is to use blue and brown for the letter B. This is a perfect combination for both challenges. The ladies must be talking with each other (lol). This is my first time doing a challenge for the BBTB. I really had fun with this one. I used stampin' up stamps for the butterflies and the sentiments. I stamped and then cut them out and placed them randomly on the card. I used a few flowers and a ribbon around the top of the B.

Three Challenges - One Card

I made this card for Pollycraft - think pink, Cute Card Thursday - signs of spring and A Spoon Full of Sugar challenges.

Pollycraft's challenge was for a pink card, Cute Card was for sping and Spoon Full was a sketch. I used Bessie's flower garden from Pollycraft. She is colored with Prisma watercolor pencils. She is surrounded by flowers. With only having three granddaughters out of 15 I like to use pink as often as I can so I had fun with this one. I love the sketch provided by Spoon Full, it was a fun sketch and I had plenty of room.

Sketch and Stash - Challenge #4

This card is for the Sketch and Stash challenge. There are two stamped images from EZ Mount stamps. It took me awhile to figure out the sentiment because my first just didn't go well with the finished images .... all because of the hat! So the sentiment that I came up with fits perfectly now and I like the way this turned out. I have added some glitter accents on the suspenders, socks and hat.

Mojo Monday challenge - week 74

This card was made for the Mojo Monday challenge. I used a Sara Kay stamp for the center. I just received this stamp and already just love it! The background is in blue, green, lavendar and white. The stamp is set on a lavendar mat. There is a large flower in the bottom corner with a stamp that says Just Because. Five pearls in the upper corner frame the lavendar mat.

Kaboodle - Challenge 2

I made this card for the challenge over at Kaboodle. I used Lilly from Grab-a-doodle-do digital downloads. This was my prize from last weeks challenge at Kaboodle. I added little half pearls on each side and added some flowers up the side of the printed image of Lilly. A bow accents the sentiment of Just a Note.

New Online Store

Hi Everyone,

I finally got my invite from the new web hosting service by Auctiva. If anyone sells on eBay Auctiva is a free hosting service for sellers of eBay. They have now set up a hosting service that allows selling on your own, a regular online store. Check out Auctiva, pretty cool. They do not have very many templates yet (like the cutest blog) but that's OK, the shopping cart works so I am pleased about that.

Anyway, I have started setting up my store to sell cards and scrapbook pages on. If things go well I would like to sell supplies too but don't want to invest to much without an outlet. My room is already packed enough, can't take much more!

Take a look and then come back and leave me a comment with your thoughts.

Let's Ride

This is my last card for the weekend, back to work tomorrow.

I made this one for the Mojo Monday challenge. Since this is Sunday lots of people have visited and I believe, at this time anyway, that I am #249 to list. Wow!! Lots of wonderful designs.

I colored Betty Boop riding this motorcycle about midnight last night and she just sat around, I couldn't come up with a sentiment that made any sense. So, Let's Ride Big Boy was the best of my suggestions. My husband suggested 'boop boop de boop' but didn't think that went well with a motorcycle. See if I ask him for suggestions again, no help (but I love him anyway). I added a little bling with the embellishment and I just love the black polka dotted ribbon. My sentiment isn't exactly in the same spot as the sketch (didn't have room) but it is at the bottom.

So Happy Together

This card was made for the Sketch and Stash challenge. I used the friends cuttlebug folder and Changito's Love Balloon from Stampendous. It's a little difficult to see the true colors as my camera is being persnickety but they are blues and greens.

Anniversary

I created this card for several challenges and a very special anniversary, mine. On March 8th my husband and I will be married for 15 years. That is a long time to put up with the same person. Just kidding!! I love him very much and wouldn't trade him for nothing.

So, I followed the sketch posted at Lili of the Valley, used the Anniversary theme at ABC Challenge and the theme of music or dance at Cute Card Thursday.

I have a pair of Betty Boop slippers and when walking past them the other day I thought she would be fun to color so I searched for coloring spots on the web and of course found one. You can find anything on the web! Any hoo, I colored this one, glittered her dress and wah-la here she is. Then came the fun (or labor) of coming up with a sentiment. The song You're Still the one came to mind and seem to fit so I used it.

The red ribbon with the white hearts has it's own story. My husband sent me a dozen roses on the anniversary of our ten year first date and being a sentimental person I saved the ribbon that was on the arrangement. They used about 5 ft so I have plenty. I also thought this fit the occasion perfectly so had to find a way to add it to the layout.

Friends

This card was made for the Taylored Expressions TECC55 challenge.

I had fun with this sketch although my first thought changed quickly when I couldn't come up with a sentiment to go with all of the different colors so I changed direction. Here is my finished card. This one is called friends. I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up! called I like your style. I thought this went perfect with the different sizes and colors in the card. I colored the dress forms as close as possible to the colored papers used. I cut out some of the flowers, added dimension and mounted them to the card. I added a ribbon with some little pearls and inked the edges. I used the Alphalicious cart for Cricut for the circle and the scalloped circle.

The inside of the card is layered with three different papers, the last being ecru for the personal message.

Thanks for looking.

You cured yet?

I made this card for the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers where the challenge is to use green and as an added bonus make it Get Well. I love this stamp from Stampin' Up because it is so cute! I colored and shaded the pig, cut out one and layered it on top of another stamp. I am still learning to shade so it may not be the best but think he looks OK. There is a little sentiment that says Hope you are buzzing around soon. I stamped some extra bees and placed them around the card. I also cut out flowers from the patterned paper and layered them. I added some green ribbon behind the flowers. The inside has the same patterned papers, a couple more flowers, ribbon and plenty of room for a message. Thanks for looking.

Hello Kitty

This is my first card using my new HKF cart. Isn't she cute? I did this card following the Friday Sketcher's sketch. I made the flowers using the WIMG cart in different sizes and then layered them on top of each other curling the petals so they stand out some. I figured since she was dancing her outfit needed to be sparkly so I colored it with glitter. I used buttons for their centers and threaded ribbon to tie them on. I used rubber and foam (from cutting out my stamps and mounting) for the dimension. I usually leave the inside of my cards blank but thought I might try adding color on the inside so I matted with the flower paper and then added the polka dot on top. I finished it off with a bow. Thanks for looking!

Thinking of You

I made this card for the CPS102 sketch challenge. I had this one piece of 12 x 12 paper that I have wanted to use for a long time but couldn't come up with someway to use it without covering up the flowers. I saw this sketch and an idea came ..... I cut out the flower, made two copies on my printer and then cut them all out. I layered the leaves twice and the flowers three times. I used different thickenesses for the purple flower to make it stand above the rest. I cut out Thinking of you from my George cart and the butterflies from the Tear Drop cart. I used a MS punch and then a piece of ribbon on top of that. I scattered the butterflies on the card and put a small amount of glitter on their wings. I put a small amount of glitter on the petals of the flowers.

True Love

I made this card for a challenge over at Kaboodles and House-Mouse. Kaboodles have wonderful papers available for download at their store. I used their Scribble paper for the backing on this card and a house mouse stamp. I used my MS punch around the outside of the front of the card. I added glitter to the sentiment, rose and leaves. I used rickrack on the side along with color coordinated buttons. Since I am new at challenges I sure hope it is OK to use the same card for two different challenges!!

Friends

This is a card I made for the Sheetload of Cards challenge. This card features a Penny Black stamp. The sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michael's that I raided on Friday.

I really love the paper that the card is made from. I can't remember what kind or where it was purchased but it is a good quality paper.

I colored the stamp using my SU pens and did my best to match the colors on the paper. I think she turned out OK. She has a backing to add dimension. The mat that she is on is from the Swiss dot Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The edges of each paper is inked with SU and using a coordinating color. The flowers are colored with my SU pens. I found out the flowers colored pretty well when I tried to edge them to coordinate.

The sentiment says "Friends for ever".

We Heart You - Caardvarks Challenge

This card was created for the Caardvarks challenge. The challenge requires at least one heart.
I used a red background. The first layer is pink paper with little red hearts. I used a MS punch at the top and bottom. The second layer is crowns and hearts in all different colors. I used the same punch at the top and bottom.
The stamped image is one bunny hugging another. I am still learning to shade and color so it isn't the best I've seen but it isn't bad.
I made a tag using my new Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cart.
The little paperclip heart is from Fabulous Finds Cricut cart. The paperclip heart and the little hearts have a crystal glaze over them to make them shine and add dimension.
The tag says Now I know what love is.

There is life

I started on this card on Tuesday but didn't get a chance to get back to it until this morning. I would say that the glitter is good and dry now.

I used the sketch over at CPS but have not entered it. It didn't turn out like what I had in my head, it looks more cutesy than elegant which is what I was looking for.

I found a Precious Moments coloring site and that is where the center picture came from. I printed it and then colored it with my SU pencils. I used my blender pen to give it a softer look. I sure do need to practice with this, sure doesn't look like the others I have seen.

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave me a comment.

Seeing spots

This card is for a challenge over on caardvarks using polka dots. The challenge is called Seeing Spots. Had a lot of fun with this one. First time of mixing patterns like this and it turned out OK.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge

This is an entry into the Daring Cardmakers challenge. The challenge is to use three different patterned papers and if you can from three different lines. Not sure which lines they are but I believe the pink and green are from different lines and the patterned may be from two (the green flowers).
