Mimosa with Apples

Hello Friends,
Today I made another Mimosa creation. This is another of the new fall stamps from Bildmalarna and yes, another cutie!
Here she is ….. Mimosa with Basket of Apples. I also used the Birthday Wishes sentiment from Bildmalarna that came in one of the stamp kits. For the edge and the swirl I used my Magnolia Doohickey dies. For Mimosa’s mat I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 10. I love these, they are large enough that you can get the whole image in without trimming. My little pearl sprigs are from Hobby Lobby, a rose from my stash and the leaves are a McGill’s pine punch.

Mimosa Witch

Today I want to share with you this cute new stamp from Bildmalarna. She is called Mimosa Witch and is available at Stamping Scrapping right now.

IMG_1039 purple (Small)

Isn’t she just the cutest little witch? I don’t normally make the same card twice but I have been experimenting with color and decided to color two of these images differently. Here is the second one.

IMG_1038 green (Small)

I find it very interesting the different look you get just by changing around your focal color.

I used the following Copics for my images:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, E0000, R22, R21, R20
  • Clothes – RV99, RV95, RV91, YG99, YG95, YG91, B4, B2, B00, B000, W1 (tone down the blue)
  • Cat and hair – N8, N6, N4
  • Bowl and milk container – E42, E41, E40, B2, B00, B000

I made the cards from inspiration I found at the following challenges:

  • Crafts 4 Eternity – sketch, marbled paper & hand made embellishment
  • Penny’s Paper – 1 ribbon (part of my embellishment), 2 dp (marbled and purple behind marbled), & 3 embellishments (stick pin with ribbon, charm and dots)

Paper Piecing …. what fun!

Our challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers this time is to do some paper piecing.

IMG_1033 (Small)

I chose some bright colors for mine and matted each color with a corresponding color. My piecing isn’t as sophisticated as the other gals but I did do a little cutting on Miss Tilda and as you can tell she is in a few pieces herself. If you haven’t see this stamp before it is Bandage Tilda and Cindy has her in stock at Stamping Scrapping so be sure to go check her out. She also has the new collection up and ready for pre-order.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry my post is so short. Working long hours and have a few more projects to complete …. see you soon!

Whiff of Joy Sketch and GDT call

Over at Whiff of Joy they have an interesting sketch that I found rather challenging but fun. They are also having a guest design team call. I would love to be chosen for this even though it is for a short time I think it would still be fun.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

IMG_1030 (Small)

The papers are from my stash. I used Nestabilities Labels 10 to mount my image on and I colored this little cutie with Copics. The flowers are Prima fairytale roses and McGill’s pine punch for the sprigs.

IMG_1031 (Small)

I followed the same theme for the inside of my card.

Burgundy, Pink and Cream

Our challenge at Bildmalarna Challenges is to use three favorite colors. I love color so it is a very hard choice for me but while trying to figure out what my three favorite colors were I ran across this paper and thought, oh yes, this is it.

Here is my project.

IMG_1016 (Small)

I used Mimosa’s Birthday and the Happy Birthday Hearts sentiment for my image. I colored the image using Copics.

Be sure to check out our challenge!

It’s all about weddings

Summertime is the preferred time to get married and I’m sure it is because the weather is nice, the sun usually shines, everything is in bloom ….. well, you get the picture.

There is a new challenge blog called Stamping Scrapping Challenge Central and the first challenge is weddings and with weddings the bride and groom are of course the most popular … hmmm, imagine that!!

I decided to do my project featuring something for someone just as important, she always gets ahhh’s, isn’t she cute, when she walks down the aisle. Do you know who that is? The flower girl!

So, for my project I created a gift bag for the bride to give to the flower girl.

Did you know that Stamping Scrapping has the wonderful Sizzix Pro? This is a die cut system that has all of these wonderful dies, you order which item you want, Cindy runs it through the machine and it comes to you all ready to be assembled. You have your choice of color and she uses a heavy, pearlescent paper that is suitable for sanding. There is also a discount for multiple items! For my bag I chose the Bag with Heart Handles. My image is the cute little Heidi from C.C. Designs. I used copics to color her and placed her on a bed of flower soft. I used Prima fairytale roses. On the other side of the bag I used my Just Rite stamper and the flower stamp from the Thinking of You large oval set. I really like the Just Rite stamper and now they have clear acrylic stamps and stamp holders so you can see where you are stamping. Cindy has them up for pre-order here but be careful, once you use them you will be hooked!!

IMG_0997 (Small)

For coloring Heidi I used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R22, R20
  • Hair – E09, E07,YR09, YR02
  • Clothes – BG78,BG75, BG72, BG000, BG0000, YG63

I made this card for a couple of  challenges:

IMG_1010 (Small)

This card will be going to a cyber friend for their birthday and with Magnolia Down Under wanting newspaper I just had to make a birthday card and of course use Love News Tilda.  The sad part is I missed the challenge at Magnolia Down Under but that is OK because I still like the newspaper!! For my sentiments I used my fonts from my Just Rite Stamper and added them to the tickets which I also stamped.

IMG_1011 (Small)

Chocolate and Cream – a yummy combination

This card was made using one of my new Tilda’s – Tilda with spring bundle. She is just so cute, I love her hand in her pocket.

The paper is from my stash and I really had to dig to get it. I have tons of paper but when you are looking for something specific, boy,is it a chore! For my distressing I used my Zutter Distrezz It All. I really love this thing, so much easier on my hands and definitely quicker! I sewed around the edges with my sewing machine. House Mouse and Friends Sketch Challenge

Over at House Mouse and Friends we were to use this great sketch created by Sheri.

And here is my card.

IMG_0955 (Small)

I used House Mouse In a nutshell for my image. Stamping Scrapping has a very large selection of House Mouse stamps. I also used my Just Rite stamp set for the sentiment. I just love these. All of them are interchangeable. You can change the border around your sentiment and everything!

I stitched my outer layer of using a straight stitch. I also used SU Ballet Blue and Pink Passion inks around the outside edges of my paper. I used a stipple brush and tapped it on the ink pad and then tapped it onto my paper to get that splattered look.

IMG_0956 (Small)

  • Mouse – E35, E33, E31, E30, R20
