Round and round we go

face (Medium)

Today is the midway point at Totally Tilda for our shaped cards challenge and I am back with another circle shaped card.

We are very proud to be sponsored by The Ribbon Girl

It is so quick to make these using the We-R Mini 8 punches. For this one I used the Scallop punch and made another easel card.

001 (Medium)

For my image I chose Tilda with Love Cake from the With Love 2013 collection. I stamped her onto Make it Crafty blending card with Memento Desert Sand ink. I used Spellbinders Grand Circles for the DP and the Circle Flourish Frame chipboard from Make It Crafty around the sentiment and the image. To make the frames gold I used Adirondack Metallic paint daubers in gold. I also inked the edges of the DP, card base and a piece of brown and then cut out with the McGill pine punch . The flowers used are from Wild Orchid.

002 (Medium)

I used the following Copics to color Tilda.

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R12
  • Hair and shoes – E35, E33, E31
  • Clothes and hat – E53, E51, E50, R27, R24, R22, R20

A close up of the sentiment.

Spring is Here blog hop

small spring (Medium)

We are having a blog hop at Make it Crafty and our theme is Spring is Here!! As I write this, in Missouri the sun is shining and it is in the mid 50’s. The 9” of snow that fell on Sunday is now just a memory … and hopefully no more will fall.

Below is a list of all of us playing along this time so be sure to hop on over to their blogs too. Be sure to leave a comment as one person will receive a surprise digi from Make it Crafty.

Barbara

For my card I chose the lovely Summer Dreams digital stamp. I think she is perfect for spring and day-dreaming. Don’t you agree?

004 (Medium)

I went for a CAS card this time as I really wanted the focus to be on the image and I just love these papers from Stampin’ Up and didn’t want to cover them up completely. I added a chipboard accent – Antique Swirl frame colored up with Tim Holtz Picket Fence. The mat is Spellbinders Labels 29 and inked up with Archival Viridian.

003 (Medium)

I printed Summer onto Make it Crafty blending card and colored her with Copics – E11, E00, E000, R12, BG23, BG11, BG10, YR27, YR23, YR20, E37, E35, E33, E51

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win!

Lots of Layers at Make it Crafty

Each week at Make it Crafty we have an inspiration and this week it is my turn. My choice was lots of layers. I love working with layers, it allows me to use several different papers of the same type but with different patterns. It is so fun!
For my inspiration I may have went a little overboard with all of the layers but I really like it so I guess for me it isn't overboard.
Elizabeth
I used four different designer papers for this and three colors of solid cardstock. I cut them in a variety of shapes. Have you ever tried just cutting different size squares and rectangles? Even though dies are great using different size shapes works wonderful and it is very quick! I use measurements such as 1/4", 1/8" and 3/8" depending on how much of the other paper I want to show.
I hope that I have inspired you to layer it up!

Our newest challenge at Totally Tilda is to make a shaped card. This can include any shape except square or rectangle.

This time we are very lucky to be sponsored by the lovely The Ribbon Girl.
If you haven't been over to the Ribbon Girl shop you should go and have a peek at all the lovely goodies for sale over there .... everything is so yummy !!

Here is my card.

004 (Medium)

I chose to make an easel card using We-R Mini 8 punch – Flourish. I also used Spellbinders Standard Circles Large, Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Decorative Circles. I added a pearl string and flowers from Wild Orchid. The sentiment and frame is from Make it Crafty. Have you tried Zoe’s chipboard?? Love this stuff!!

Here are a couple of close ups of the card.

006 (Medium)

I stamped Tilda with little pocket onto Make it Crafty blending card using Memento Desert Sand and colored her with the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R12, R11
  • Clothes and flowers – G82, YR14, YR12, G46, G43
  • Hair – E57, E25, E23
  • Shoes – T6, T5, T4

And a close up of the chipboard frame and sentiment. For the frame I used Tim Holtz Picket Fence distress paint and then airbrushed with YR14. Since the distress paint was still a little wet it gave this mottled appearance when it dried. I like the way it turned out.

Weekly Inspiration at Make it Crafty

face (Medium)

At Make it Crafty it is my team’s turn to host the weekly inspiration of Clean And Simple. As well as CAS we also have the option to use grey's with one other color and that is what I did.

001 (Medium)

This was a fun challenge for me as I have never colored skin in grey's before but all in all I am happy with how it turned out. I had more trouble with the clean and simple than the coloring. Why not give it a go.

face (Medium)
That is our challenge theme this time at Totally Tilda. We want to see your creations featuring Tilda and an Egg meaning you have to use Tilda and there must be an egg visible on your project whether it be part of the stamp or an embellishment.
This time we are very lucky as we are sponsored by the lovely Nikki from Bunny-Zoe crafts
And the Prize is;
gif maker
My creation uses one of the new images from the Easter 2013 collection, Tilda with Egg and Chicken.
This card is for sale in my Etsy shop –> here and ready for shipping if interested.
001 (Medium)
I used the pastel color palette and the paper from Docrafts Lucy Cromwell collection. I also used an Antique Rectangular chipboard frame from Make it Crafty. I am so hooked on these chipboard items. They add such elegance to any project and as you can see here they are perfect size for Tilda! I made the bow using Becca’s Peg Bow Maker.
002 (Medium)
I colored the frame with Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dauber – Pearl, one coat. To mat and still display the beautiful frame I traced around the frame onto the paper and then cut it out to size. I then attached using Scraperfect Best Glue Ever.
003 (Medium)
For Tilda I stamped her onto Make it Crafty blending card with Memento Ink – Tuxedo Black.
004 (Medium)
The tulips are from Wild Orchid crafts and the others are from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting and will see you over at Totally Tilda for our Easter Egg challenge. Enjoy!

Angelica Praying

Today I would like to show you a project I made using a host of Make it Crafty products. When I first saw Angelica Praying I feel in love with her, Angels have a special place in my heart. Even though she is part of a Christmas collection I wanted to show you that she can be used for everyday. Isn't she gorgeous?

Angelica Praying fullAlong with Angelica I also wanted to show you some of the wonderful new chipboard flourishes, another favorite of mine. These are called heart flourishes and can be used on any project, they are so elegant. I colored them first with white acrylic paint to seal the chipboard and then used Copic Spicas in Gold and Pink. These are gorgeous and so fun to work with.. I love getting packages full of these and even though they are delicate they are very strong, I am definitely hooked!!

007 008

This one here is the Antique Swirl frame and is a perfect addition to the Heart Flourishes. My sentiment is computer generated. To add this to the frame I traced around the outside and then cut it out, perfect fit!

009So now that you have seen all of the pieces of my project let me show you the finished project.

I took an 8 x 10 frame that I had and placed Angelica behind a piece of cardstock to mat her. I positioned the chipboard at the top and bottom, cutting the top one in half, I just couldn't hide any of it, it is too pretty. I also added a couple to each side. I colored the gems with Copics to match.

Perfectly lovely

010 (Medium)

That is what this card is titled. When I first got this Tilda stamp I thought she was ‘rockin’ and my first thoughts were …. you got it going on. What I think of when I see her is music playing in the background and her as a mom who is working around the house. That made me think how often to we thank mom, or others, for all they do for others so I think this card is a perfect gift for some lovely person.

This card is available in my Etsy shop here if interested.

It’s midway over at Totally Tilda for our dots and stripes challenge. I am still playing with no lines coloring and liking it so much. I just love the three dimensional look that it achieves when the lines are light.
