Happiness is a butterfly

Today I would like to show you the shadow box frame that I put together. I love these chipboard kits as they give me the opportunity to explore a creative side that is sometimes hidden.

I used a the new distress paint to paint the chipboard black. For the background I used glitter and applied it while the distress paint was still wet. It didn't turn out the way I had imagined but it looks good. Of course, the photograph doesn't show the true beauty .... need lots of practice there :)

This is a side profile of the butterflies. I took green floral wire and colored it black and then glued it to the background so the butterflies are of differing heights. It is hard to see this in the photograph.

For the sentiment, I took different colors of the distress paint and daubed them on the stamp and then stamped. I like the variety of colors throughout the sentiment.

  1. I really really like your Shadow Box Frame!!!! I have been wanting to do one, but have not yet stepped out of my comfort zone to do it!! I do believe you have inspired me even closer to giving it a go.
All of the die cuts and chip board elements are beautiful and really add to the dimension.
