We Rock

I made this door hanger for work. The department I work in has an employee recognition program called 'You Rock' so I thought the Rocker Chick image would be perfect for this.

I took a piece of chipboard 6 x 12 and layered it with several pieces of coordinating paper. I created a pocket to hold the recognition slips and cut We Rock using my Silhouette Cameo. It is a simple, quick project that could be used for many things.

For my image I chose Tilda as a clown. I colored Tilda with Copics and added pop dots behind her to give her some dimension.

Happiness is a butterfly

Today I would like to show you the shadow box frame that I put together. I love these chipboard kits as they give me the opportunity to explore a creative side that is sometimes hidden.

I used a the new distress paint to paint the chipboard black. For the background I used glitter and applied it while the distress paint was still wet. It didn't turn out the way I had imagined but it looks good. Of course, the photograph doesn't show the true beauty .... need lots of practice there :)

This is a side profile of the butterflies. I took green floral wire and colored it black and then glued it to the background so the butterflies are of differing heights. It is hard to see this in the photograph.

For the sentiment, I took different colors of the distress paint and daubed them on the stamp and then stamped. I like the variety of colors throughout the sentiment.

So Excited

I wanted to share some exciting news with my blogland buddies.

I found awhile back that Spellbinders was having a design team call. If you have been to my blog you know that I use Spellbinders on just about every project I make. Well, I decided to take a stab and enter the call.

Guess what? I made it through the first round! Can you imagine how excited I was when I received the notification?? Oh my, I was ecstatic and I still am.  I still have two rounds to make to go but even if I don’t make it, to be selected from all of the fantastic designers out there is a privilege and something I will always remember!

Midway at Totally Tilda

We are midway through our Pink Princess Tilda at Totally Tilda.

For my card I chose to use Tilda in Cotton Dress from the new Once Upon a Time collection. I love seeing all of the beautiful shaped cards and decided to make one of my own. I chose the A2 Bracket Borders One from Spellbinders to make my edges and really like the way it turned out, I will definitely be doing this again. The mat that Tilda is on is Spellbinders Floral Ovals. I then cut Tilda using Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large. I inked up the edges and the sides using Tim Holtz brushed corduroy. I added a bow and added flowers from Wild Orchid.

Pink Princess at Totally Tilda

It’s time for a new challenge at Totally Tilda and the theme this time is to use a Tilda that has a crown or a tiara with a predominantly pink scheme.

For mine I used Princess Tilda in ballet shoes from the new Once Upon a Time collection. My papers are from the Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection. I matted Tilda using JustRight Vintage Labels 2. I also used the JustRight Live, Love, Laugh Vintage Labels 2 stamp set with Archival Magenta Hue ink.
