Imagine the unimaginable

On Mother’s Day, Zoe of Make it Crafty gave the Facebook group this wonderful digital image. Her name is Lilli Faye and she will be available in the store soon. I had some time today so wanted to color her up. Now let me tell you, several times I about started over but decided no, keep going. I wanted to try the sheer coloring that I haven’t done before and although it is not perfect I kept moving forward. I decided when I started her wings (the last part) that I liked how she was turning out. So glad I kept going forward. I am really happy with the outcome too. Here she is all finished and mounted on a card.

I’m not one to deviate from the norm but I am glad that I did with this one. As I was coloring her I thought I will probably try her again but do a different skin color …. hmmm, wonder what color.

I printed her on to Make it Crafty Blending Card and colored her with the following Copics:

• Skin – E11, E00, E000, B66, B63
• Clothes, hair and wings – B69, B66, B63, B60, YR23

I added some Tim Holtz Rock Candy glitter to the insides of each wing for a little glamour. For the ribbon on the side I used Make it Crafty Fancy Ribbon Sliders and Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dauber – Pearl. The papers are by Papermania – Burleigh collection.

On a roll

I would like to say that I am catching up with my scrapbooking but that wouldn’t be the truth but I did manage to get three pages done yesterday .

This page is one of my granddaughters, who by the way is now five (gulp), when she was about 1 month old.

The main piece in this project is Spellbinders Parisian Accents dies. I used the long die strip and the corner pieces to make the frame around the picture and then the circle for the smaller pictures. I also used Spellbinders Standard Circles Small to cut out the small pictures.

I was looking for patterns out in blogland and ran across Tara’s Craft Studio on Pinterest where there was a card like mine above. I loved the look of it but couldn’t find instructions for it. After I looked at it a little more I decided I could calculate the measurements, I did and it turned out fantastic!

Meet Peyton Myles

Today I would like to introduce you to my newest grandson, Peyton. Peyton was born on May14th and I had the privilege of being there when he came into the world.

I am trying to find the time to scrapbook more as my grandkids are growing by leaps and bounds. I hate to admit it but I am very, very far behind.

I made a page today, Peyton’s first page of his album.

It’s always hard for me to do a boy scrapbook page but I like the way this one turned out. I am trying to do more with my card making supplies on my scrapbook pages and it is so fun! I love it!!

I used Cog Works and Steampunk Hearts chippies from Make it Crafty as my accent pieces. I colored them with Tim Holtz Distress Paints – Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Chipped Sapphire, and Pearl. After I applied the Vintage Photo I daubed the other colors on and wiped them down before they dried to give it that smudged look. I also inked the edges of the papers, photos and ribbons with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The It’s a Boy ribbon was white so I covered it with Antique Linen. I cut out his name using the Mistral font on my Silhouette Cameo.

We Rock

I made this door hanger for work. The department I work in has an employee recognition program called 'You Rock' so I thought the Rocker Chick image would be perfect for this.

I took a piece of chipboard 6 x 12 and layered it with several pieces of coordinating paper. I created a pocket to hold the recognition slips and cut We Rock using my Silhouette Cameo. It is a simple, quick project that could be used for many things.

For my card I chose to do a diamond fold card. I found a wonderful tutorial on creating this here.

For my image I chose Tilda as a clown. I colored Tilda with Copics and added pop dots behind her to give her some dimension.

Happiness is a butterfly

Today I would like to show you the shadow box frame that I put together. I love these chipboard kits as they give me the opportunity to explore a creative side that is sometimes hidden.

I used a the new distress paint to paint the chipboard black. For the background I used glitter and applied it while the distress paint was still wet. It didn't turn out the way I had imagined but it looks good. Of course, the photograph doesn't show the true beauty .... need lots of practice there :)

This is a side profile of the butterflies. I took green floral wire and colored it black and then glued it to the background so the butterflies are of differing heights. It is hard to see this in the photograph.

For the sentiment, I took different colors of the distress paint and daubed them on the stamp and then stamped. I like the variety of colors throughout the sentiment.
