Keys to my heart

Happy Saturday ....

This card fits into several challenges:

The main colors in this card are pinks and greens. This is one of many favorite color combos that I have so just love it. The dp is My Mind's Eye. This is more new paper that I just bought. Couldn't help it, Hobby Lobby has all of their paper 50% off and just couldn't pass it up, one of my many weaknesses ... lol.

The sketch at Priscilla's - aka Midnight Madness was really fun to work with. I did add a few more embellies not because the sketch wasn't great but because I have a heard time leaving 'space' on my cards, it just looked too plain to me so I added some paper roses in the corner and a couple more pearls on the right side.

For my image I used Tilda with heart and colored her with Copics. Here is a close up.

I added a charm below Tilda. Isn't it just the cutest little set of keys?? I threaded ribbon through the eye of the charm and just love how it lays, it just kind of floats.

The inside of the card has the same sheer pink ribbon with a 'floating' heart. For the sentiment I used Chopin script and printed it on white GP cardstock. I used the same Nestabilitie for my matting. I added a couple of pink pearls on each side of the word heart.

Thanks for visiting and hope you come again soon.

Stamptacular Sunday challenge

The challenge at Stamptacular this week is fall. I recently bought some new papers by My Mind's Eye and just had to break into them. I just love paper!!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I just love this paper with all of the browns, greens, pinks and oranges. This Tilda image that I rec'd from a swap fits perfectly and is a great fall stamp. I colored her with pinks and browns to go with the paper using my Copics.

For the inside of the card I used the same papers.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

Copics Colour Challenge - GDT

I made this card for the Copics Colour Challenge as a GDT. I was so excited to be asked to do this, it is just awesome!!

The color choices for challenge #37 are:
This card is made using a stair step pattern and a Sugar Nellie stamp (I believe). Sad that I don't remember where I bought it but she is a cutie. If I am wrong on this stamp please correct me as I feel it's important to give credit where credit is due.

I colored her using the three colors, along with a couple others, as requested by the Copics Colour Challenge. I cut leaves after embossing them using a Martha Stewart punch.

For the fence I used heat embossing and then cut the fence out. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and is also embossed.

Be sure to hop on over to the challenge and see all of the beautiful creations and to enter the challenge yourself! Thanks for visiting!

Whimsy Stamps challenge 25

It's time again for a new challenge over at Whimsy Stamps. This week we are challenging you to create a card/layout/etc. using the following sketch.
I chose the Hippo stamp to use in my card. I am working on learning to shade more using my Copics so this was a perfect one to practice on. This little, or should I say big, hippo is adorable! Here is my take on the sketch.

I reversed the layout for some reason and didn't realize until I had everything stuck down but it's OK, it's still the same sketch just reversed (which by the way is allowed -- lol).

My dp is Travel by Making Memories. It has a fall color scheme to it which is part of the reason for selecting. As much as I would like it to stay summer I think fall is definitely here.

Speaking of fall, here is a pic of what I see when I look out my back door. Isn't it gorgeous??
OK, back to the card. Here is a pic of the inside, nothing fancy but follows the same sketch pattern.

Come and join us over at Whimsy! We also have a group at SNR so come and visit!

High Hopes meets Priscilla Styles

I made this card for a special someone and also used one of my new High Hopes stamps that I purchased from Bunny Zoe's crafts. These are such cute stamps and she was such fun to color. I used the sketch over at Priscilla Styles and this will also be my very first entry at High Hopes. The challenge at High Hopes is a child like, or child stamp.

One of the DT over at High Hopes used this stamp, added embellies to her boa and used the sentiment that I did. I really didn't copy but it seemed so perfect so I guess I did.

I colored her with Copics and added a few white highlights to her. I had some fiber ribbon (if that's what you call it) and I just cut the fringe off, added glue to the boa, and dropped the fibers on. It kind of looks like feathers even though it isn't. Here is a close up.

Isn't she just the cutest?? The dp is Totally Girl by My Minds' Eye. The cardstock is Neutrals by DCWV. I added some sheer ribbon in the corner, a button with the shank removed and a couple of heart charms.

For the inside I used a SU! stamp, I like your style, and oval nestabilities. I added a little olive green ribbon for the bow.

Tilda's Tree

Haven't had much time to post lately but did make a card for a special someone .... and also for the Clean and Simple challenge over at Magnolia-licious Highlites.

This is the first time I have used this Tilda and her tree. The tree is very easy to color and Tilda was fun. As you can tell, I hope, I am working on my shading. Now that I have a full set of Copics I can really work on that. Here is a close up.

It was really fun doing a clean and simple card but hard at the same time as I like using layers and embellies but all and all she turned out nice. The focus is on Tilda who I added dimension too and a gold wire to her ornament. I added glitter to her wings and to the ornaments although they do not show up too well in the pic. For the snow on the tree I used DecoArt Glistening Snow Writer from Joanne's.

For the inside I kept it simple also and added a heat embossed message.

The dp is Holiday Collection by DCWV.

Whimsy Challenge - Embossing

This week over at the Whimsy challenge we needed to make a creation using embossing.

I used the cute little bunny and snowman for my image. Isn't it just the cutest!!

I used an embossing folder and acrylic for my background. After it was embossed I rubbed a white inkpad over it to add some color. I also added a couple of snow flake brads to the upper corners of the card. It's a little hard to see them though.

Come on over and join the challenge, would love to see what you create!!

Happy Anniversary

I made this card for someone celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. I liked it so much I thought I would see if it fit into any challenges going on and guess what, it does -- four of them!!

The dp is by Basic Grey and the silver and blue cardstock I purchased at Archivers. The sticker said it was from Italy but do not know who makes it. It is some heavy duty, satiny cardstock though!

I purchased the image from Mo's Digital Pencil and they were just a joy to color. They look so cute walking hand in hand. I colored them with my Copics and decided to give her a red hat with a purple bow for the red hat club. It still amazes me what can be done with Copics!!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Time for some challenges!!

I have found some time to do some challenge entries and this card fits into 8!!

I used Flowers by Elisabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie.

I colored her using Copics and added some bling to the flower. I layered her flower and her hat.

For the inside I used the same designer papers and added some buttons and stitching.

Thanks for coming by and visiting and hope that you will visit again.

Scrappy Frogs treats and Copic Creations

Scrappy Frogs challenge for the next two weeks is to create a treat bag using a tutorial found here. It is just too cute and it is very quick!!

Here is my project for the challenge.
I used Winnie the Pooh Halloween paper to make my bag and a punch with moon and stars. I also used a Winnie the Pooh punch that I have that I added to the card. I colored witch Tilda using copics.

Come on over to Scrappy Frogs and give it a go. The prize this go around is a set of Scent My Cards scents.

I am also entering this card in the Copic Creations challenge which is to color something black.

Guest DT call - Magnolia Down Under store

Kellie over at her new Magnolia Down Under store is looking for guest DT's for a 3 month spot. Oh, how I would love to be a part of this. I just love Maggie's. I have three 18 x 24 acrylic sheets on my wall that are full of nothing but Maggie's. Yes, I am just a smidgen taken with these little lovelies.

To qualify I need to showcase some of my creations and not all of them had to be Maggie's so I added this slideshow to show some of my fav's that I have made over the last couple of months.

Cherry Tilda and Just Magnolia

The Just Magnolia challenge this week features a sketch by one of the DT, Mina Hartley. It is a great sketch to work with so be sure to hop on over to their blog and check it out.

I recently received new Maggie's that I purchased from Magnolia Stamps and decided to use Cherry Tilda. I had some of the cherry paper that I received with one of my orders so thought this would be the perfect time to break her in.

I used some sheer ribbon for the vertical and then weaved a piece of ribbon through for my horizontal. I added three bows and a sentiment that says I will always cherish you.

Tilda is colored with Copics and seated in the double matted circle. I added backing for dimension. Here is a close up of Tilda just sitting so pretty in her little circle.

I used the same coordinated papers for the inside.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting today, hope you will come back soon.

Whiff of Joy and Friday Sketchers

I made this card for my daughter to give to her doctor as a thank you for delivering her son (see earlier post for a pic). I used the current sketch over at Friday Sketchers for the main design. I also used the Easel card that is featured over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. I really like this easel card as it works great for displaying your cards.

I used a lot of new techniques (for me anyway) that I have been wanting to try for some time and this was the perfect time.

The whole scheme of my design was based around the Whiff of Joy Woman's Delight Willow holding baby stamp. I have loved this stamp since the first time I laid eyes on it and finally purchased it. She is so elegant with her flowing dress and baby blanket.

I colored Willow using my Copics including my new set of the pale colors purchased at Magnolia stamps. I wanted the colors to be subtle and I believe that I achieved that. I am very pleased with the finished product.

I finally got my hands on some acrylic, which I had not worked with before, so thought this would be perfect.

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the acrylic (new technique I just learned) using a Sizzix embossing folder that I recently purchased.

Since I was going to cover up most of it I decided to place some glitter in one of the thank you's so it would show up. I placed a piece of acrylic behind the embossed one to make my base for displaying Willow. The dp is Far East from DCWV available at Michael's. I just love this pack!!

I colored Willow using the B0000, B000, B00, YR0000, YR000, YR00, E0000, E000, E00, E21, E50, E51, E52, E53, R20.

I colored a base Willow and cut out a second to dimension the baby, Willow's arm and her head. I also added blue glitter to the two flowers that are in Willow's hair.

I added four brads, two across the top and two on the bottom of the easel to grip to when it is in it's standing position. I added some flowers from my stash and a blue, sheer bow at the top.

For the bottom of the easel I embossed another thank you from the Sizzix set I purchased and added glitter to the back side of the embossed words. I then stuck it down with glue dots.

It's hard to see because of the reflection of my lights but it says Thank you from my heart of hearts. The heart is done in red. This is also where the remainder of the Friday Sketchers finishes with the torn paper.

Last, and certainly not least, I used my envelope box pattern from Priscilla Styles. I just love this box, it is great for those cards that have the tall embellishments. I decorated this to go with the card. I had glittered a butterfly from the paper and it wouldn't fit on the card and still fit in the envelope box so decided to place it on front. I used the large glue dots to give it dimension and added some more flowers from my stash. I tore some of the paper and overlayed it on the base card stock (inside of box is lined with coordinating paper) and placed all on top including one more sheer ribbon bow.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Talk to you again soon.
