Surprise for a friend blog hop at Make It Crafty

face (Medium)

I have a friend that is moving to Florida and wanted to make a special going away gift. I used this frame

006 (Medium)

And made this

001 (Medium)

I made an overlay using chipboard and Tim Holtz alcohol inks and just daubed away. This is the result.

From Make it Crafty I used these lovely beach and summer images – beach umbrella, Dylan, sandcastle and Ebony. I printed them onto MiC blending card and colored them with Copics.

004 (Medium)003 (Medium)

I took some black glitter foam stickers that I had in my stash, painted them white using Picket Fence distress paint and then inked them with Archival Cobalt ink. The flourishes are the Flower and Leaf flourishes from Make It Crafty. I also colored them with the cobalt ink … should have colored them white first too ….

002 (Medium)

Now, if you did not start the hop with Kasey you should go back and start there, wouldn’t want you to miss any of the lovely creations!

Midway at Totally Tilda

face (Medium)

We are midway through our Valentine Tilda challenge at Totally Tilda.

Our generous sponsor is the lovely Nikki fromBunny-Zoe crafts

gif maker

with this fab prize for one lucky winner is a £10 voucher to spend online..

For my card I chose to use Tilda with Heart Arrows. I also went with a non-traditional color scheme – peach!

005 (Medium)

I used Glitz Hello Friend DP and Core’dinations cardstock along with inking the edges of the paper with Tim Holtz distress ink – Rusty Hinge. The glitzy heart is from Michael’s and flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. The sentiment is from Sweet Crazy Love collection and used Spellbinders Classic Heart dies.

006 (Medium)

I stamped Tilda with Memento Desert Sand onto Make it Crafty blending card. Using Desert Sand gives the image a look of no lines in most instances and it is much easier to color as the lines are a little darker! I think I am hooked Smile.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Seeing dots …

bodice (Medium)

….Polka dots that is. Along with this weeks inspiration at Make It Crafty blog of non-square cards we were also given the option to do polka dots. I really like the way this turned out.

After I colored Pearl I took a Memento black pen and just started adding dots and it really made it pop!

For my card I decided to go with a circle easel card and I wanted it small enough that I could fit Pearl above the circle. She is so elegant all decked out in this gorgeous dress!

Pearl by Stephanie

I love using this chipboard, it is nice and sturdy and I can make it any color or texture that I want. To color the chipboard I used a distress ink pad and the distress sponge tool. I dabbed the tool in the ink and then just dabbed away on the chipboard until it was the color I wanted. I would like to say that I didn't get inky fingers but I did :) You don't really need to hold on to it when you dab it but I always seem to.

Such a beauty

008 (Medium)

I have loved this image since she was released at Make it Crafty. I just thought wow! I started coloring her awhile back and would look at her and sigh as I had other projects that needed to come before her. Today I was getting a jump on other projects and the ink I used in my printer (after market) decided to smear so I decided to finish Anastasia and I am so glad that I did, I love the way she turned out.

I bought a 6 x 6 stack of cardstock by Docraft called Lucy Cromwell and it was perfect! So here is Anastasia finished and mounted on a card.

007 (Medium)

I also used Spellbinders Floral Ovals to mount her on and Make It Crafty Fanciful Flourishes chipboard. I covered them with Adirondack Paint dauber – Pearl and then dabbed on Tim Holtz distress ink – aged mahogany, it almost matches the Core’dinations cardstock perfectly.

I printed her onto Make it Crafty blending card with real Kodak ink (hehehe) and colored her with the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R12
  • Hair – E99, E97, YR21, Y23
  • Flowers – R89, R85, R83, R81, RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91, R35, R32, R30, Y26, Y23, Y11, G16, G14, E81
  • Background – G00, G000, G0000

For my card I chose to use Love is in the Air Tilda from the Love ‘13 collection. I colored her with Copics, cut her out and then affixed these little red hearts in about the same places as they were originally stamped. I added chipboard accents from Make it Crafty after adding Adirondack Pearl paint. Flowers are from Wild Orchid and pearls are from my stash.

009 (Medium)

I stamped Tilda with Memento Desert Sand. This gives you a good light line and almost allows for full no line coloring, you can still see a few but I like the look.
