And baby makes three

These two cards fit into five challenges:

For the faux grid I used my scor-pal and made scores every 1/2” from point to point. It is a little difficult to see but it is there. I used the cute little mouse sucking it’s thumb and holding a blanket for my image. I made one for a boy and one for a girl.

For my little mice I used the following Copics colors

Mice: E30, 34, 39, R20

Blankets: B0000, 000, 00, 02, 04 (boy) R0000, 000, 00, 81, 83 and 85 (girl). Here is a close up of each.

I matted the mice using my Labels 6 Nestabilities by Spellbinders that I purchased from Stamping Scrapping. I added some little buttons and some lace and ribbon on the girls card.

I finished the insides using the same paper by Debbie Mumm.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - challenge #2

This post will remain at the top until Jan. 31, 2010.

I am hosting my first challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers and am so excited because I was able to announce the awesome prizes that our sponsor, Cindy Echtinaw owner of Stamping Scrapping, has offered up. Wait until you hear this!

There are two great prizes for this challenge. There will have one grand prize winner who will win a one years subscription to the new Magnolia Ink magazine! There will also have a runner up that will receive the Tilda with Lilacs stamp.

With such awesome prizes there has to be a requirement right? There is and it is easy-peasy. Enough said, take a hop over to the blog and take a look.

Here is the sketch we are using:

and here is my take.

I used Standing Tall Tilda. She is available for pre-order over at Stamping Scrapping and can be found here. I stamped her onto Neenah 80 lb cardstock (which I am in so much love with!!). I was using GP cardstock from Wal-mart and after purchasing some Neenah I can never go back. It is amazing how a different paper can feel when using your favorite coloring technique.

Here is a close up.

I added a little red flower to her hat for some added dimension and besides, I just like the flower ... lol. I used my Mega Curved Spellbinders for her mat. For the red one I traced around the same Nestability and then hand cut, I only wanted a small border around her.

For the inside I used the same DP - Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and placed a journaling mat.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Don't forget to go on over to Magnolia Stamp Lovers and check out the challenge .... see you there!

Peachy Tilda sending Sweet Hellos

I made this card for a rainee over at the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group using several challenges.

I used Peach Tilda for my image and some papers from a Creative Keepsakes kit that I purchased at a show over the summer. The colors are pinks, blues, peaches and creams – these are definitely fruity colors and perfect for the Charimsa challenge.

DSC01591Following the sketch at Midnight Madness I used my Cricut Storybook cartridge to make the swirls at the top of the card and added a few half pearls. I added a pink ribbon behind the mat that Tilda is standing on.  For my favorite coloring medium I used Copics – I just love these things!! Here is a close up of Miss Tilda.

DSC01592 The inside of the card uses the same papers and a couple more swirls.

DSC01593 I alternated the matting on the inside between the polka dots and the stripes.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

Until next time,

Here is my creation. I used the Love Letter House Mouse stamp that I purchased from Stamping Scrapping. Cindy offers a stamp of the month club for House Mouse at an awesome price. You can find this set here.

I colored this with Copics and added some little grape like flowers. I used green wire for the little sprigs that are mixed with the flowers.

I added some ribbons behind the stamp and embossing for the sentiment.

Pretty Pink Valentine

This card is for two challenges:

I used Cupid Tilda for my image. Isn’t she just too adorable?

DSC01581 (Small) DSC01583 (Small)

The DP is by Stampin’ Up and there are four different papers on this card and all in the same shade of pink! Have you ever taken out your papers from different companies and tried to match two together? Boy, there are tons of shades of pink!!

I added a ribbon on the side with a charm that says Love. I also used a Fiskars punch for the side and the bottom of the sentiment. The sentiment on the front is computer generated.

Here is a close up of Tilda. I colored her with Copics and added little white highlights on her cheeks and various places on her dress. I added Stickles to her hearts and headband.

DSC01582 (Small)

For the inside of the card I used the same papers and added a sentiment from Sentiment Salon. Isn’t it just too cute?! The perfect sentiment to go with this card. Sentiment Salon is a new online store featuring downloadable sentiments. Now, these aren’t your common sentiments that you can find everywhere, these are sentiments that tickle your funny bone, make you say ‘aah’ and just make you smile. Why not hop on over and take a peek.

Whiff of Joy - challenge 62

This card was made for the sketch challenge over at Whiff of Joy. I used Willow with Hot Chocolate as my image.

The dp that I used is from the Rustic Stack by DCWV. The colors are greens, creams, gold and blue. I wanted Willow to have red hair because of the green. Red heads always look great in greens!!

I went for a search on the internet for colors to use and found this great blog where she has ever hair color combination you can think of. If you would like to check it out go here. The blog is called Heathers Heavinly Stampations. Here is a close up of the coloring.

Here is a list of the Copics I used:
  • Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Hair - YR00, YR02, YR04, YR09, E07, E09
  • Pants - YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, BG02, BG000
  • Shirt - E50, E51, E53
For the sentiment I used a stamp that is also from Whiff of Joy (I believe) and a brass plate from Stampin Up that I had in my stash.

I used my Nestabilities for the matting of Willow and also behind. These can be found at a great online store named Stamping Scrapping. Here is a direct link to these. Cindy has an awesome store, be sure to check out all of her products when you visit.

For the inside I used the same papers and added a journaling area.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. See ya next time.

Dragon Style

This card fits into four challenges:This card has a dragon from High Hope stamps as the image. This was the first inking of this cute little fella, I just think he is so cute. The sentiment is also from High Hopes. I colored the dragon using Copics. The designer papers are from my stash and the buttons are from Michael's.

Here is a close up of the dragon and his little friend.

The sentiment is stamped onto a green strip with a button placed at each end.

The inside of the card is finished using the same papers.

Here's My Heart

Happy Sunday,

This card fits into six challengesI used Tilda holding a heart for my image. I used the Month/Year sentiment set from Sentiment Salon. I used the large blossom Spellbinder that I purchased at Stamping Scrapping as my mat for the circle month. The little gems that are in the upper corners and on the ribbon are called Twinkle Jewels and are also available at Stamping Scrapping here. I love using these little beauties because they pick up the color that they are placed on. The ones on the ribbon are the same as the ones in the corners but appear differently because of the color underneath. It's almost impossible not to have a matching Twinkle Jewel. I used Red Stickles inside the heart that Tilda is holding.

I colored Tilda with my favorite coloring technique, Copics. Here are the colors I used:
  • Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Clothes and heart - R39, R89, R27, BG10, BG13, BG15
  • Hair - Y11, Y21, E97, E99
The inside of the card follows the same theme as the front. I also used another digital sentiment from Sentiment Salon ... Here's my heart. I added Twinkle Jewels around this blossom Spellbinder. There's also a blank blossom for writing that special message to your special someone.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Digital Sentiments

Ever have trouble finding just the right thing to say?

Never seem to have the right stamp at the exact time that you need it?

There is a new digital shop called Sentiment Salon. Deb has made some great sentiments and they are available for download. One of the best things I like is that they aren't your normal everyday sayings that everyone uses.

Come on, take a peek!!

Baby it's cold outside

Brrr!! Think most of the U.S. is cold right now. I'm not sure about the rest of the world but here it is cold.

I made this card for the Magnolia-licious Highlites challenge. The theme is a frame card. The tutorial and all is on the blog.

I used Tilda holding a lantern and the winter trees stamp. I colored her with my Copics and added some dimensional snow to her hat, at her feet and on the trees.

The paper that I used has phrases on it and 'it's cold outside' is in the perfect spot for a sentiment so I added some Stickles and cut out the word Baby using my Cricut.

The inside of the card uses the same font and says "lets snuggle".

Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
