Tilda’s wishing a happy birthday

I made this card for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday. I used Tilda with cake. This is my first time using my new stamp and she is so cute!

When I made the card I chose the sketch at Card Patterns. Now that it is finished I decided to look and see if it fits into any other challenges and I found three others so that is a total of four.

I used a color combo of pink and chocolate and papers from DCWV Totally Girl and Debbie Mumm.

Here is a close up of Tilda.

  • Dress and cake: R81, R83, R85, R89, Y02, G14

Bildmalarna News

Have you heard the news? Bildmalarna stamps are now available through a U.S. Distributorship owned by Kevin and Cindy Echtinaw. Stamping Scrapping was the first store in the U.S. to carry these cuties on EZ Mount. Through the new website you can also purchase some  of these in rubber form if that is your preference.

Come on over to the Bildmalarna shop and take a look at the wonderful job Kevin did setting it up. They even offer purchasing the Bildmalarna stamp club. Through the club you can purchase the new sets unmounted on one sheet. These are stamps that are not available to retailers so you will receive stamps that noone else has! It is a great club and with the shipping that Cindy does they will come in one day and be out the next.

Talk about shipping, I ordered some Bildmalarna stamps from the site this morning and within one hour I had a shipping confirmation from Cindy. Man, that is quick!!!!

There is also a challenge blog for these cuties. Froggy aka Dawn is the head design team member and has great things in store for us. You can visit the blog here. There is also a Yahoo Group where you can hear about any new specials and news here. And to top that off one was just started over at SNR here.

Tell your friends and come on over and play with us, we would love to have you!!

Hugs,

My first airbrush experience

Well, yesterday, I took the Copics certification class in Overland Park, Ks. I met Sally Lynn and she is just a hoot! I also got to meet one of my blogging friends, Lisa Cook. I had a blast! The weather wasn’t great but the three hour hike was worth it.

So, I have had an airbrush kit sitting in my craft room for months afraid to use it. After using the demo at class I thought this isn’t hard, so I took mine out of the package and made a card tonight. I made this for a friend who is finalizing her adoption on Thursday.

My airbrushing technique definitely needs some practice but all in all it didn’t turn out bad. It is definitely a plain card for me with no embellishments but it was fun! So, here is the front.

IMG_0133 (Small)

I used my Cricut Hello Kitty cartridge for the font. I stuck it down with temporary adhesive so that I could spray over the top.  IMG_0135 (Small)IMG_0137 (Small)

I used this adorable House Mouse Baby Blocks stamp. I also used the MS Deco Art continuous punch set.

During class yesterday Sally Lynn showed us that you could use a Spica with the air gun too just by holding it under the little metal nozzle. The picture doesn’t show it very well though.

 IMG_0136 (Small)

I sentiment inside just says Congrats with the stamped image on the top of the card. I added some Scent My Cards Baby Powder scent as a finishing touch. Boy, love that smell!!

Little Mimosa at Bildmalarna Blog

Happy Monday!

Today my card is featured over at the Bildmalarna Challenge Blog. Our challenge this time was to bling it up and what better way than with Little Mimosa. Isn’t she just adorable?

IMG_0095 (Small)

I made this card for my granddaughter, Sheridan, who will be 5 in a couple of weeks. The Happy Birthday stamp is SWL Label Accents by Cindy Echtinaw of Stamping Scrapping. I used my MS Pansy Corner punch and MS Pansy Edge punch for the background paper and the tag.

On her dress I added pink rhinestones where the polka dots are, added more rhinestones in the flower centers and then put 5 rhinestones and one large one in the center of the flower.

IMG_0099 (Small)IMG_0100 (Small) IMG_0101 (Small) For the inside I used the same punches and added a white journaling mat.

Hope to see you over at the Bildmalarna challenge blog!

Party Time

Over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers our challenge this time is Marty Gras or carnival. For my creation I used dangling Tilda from the new Raising the ceiling collection.

IMG_0047 (Small)

I used purple as my base for the card and some paper that had ferris wheels on it but of course I covered it up with purple and yellow mulberry paper so you can’t really see it. I added some purple ribbon and glued white pearls over it so they would look like beads. Who can go to Mardi Gras and not have beads??

  IMG_0048 (Small)

I cut Tilda’s hands and placed them on top of the beads so it would look like she was holding it. I colored her with Copics but have since lost the paper that I wrote the numbers on so I can’t list them (sorry!).

Here is a look at the inside.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to hop on over to Magnolia Stamp Lovers and join in on the challenge! Have fun!

Perk Up!

This card was made for the challenge at the Sugar Bowl. Here is the sketch:

image

The challenge also calls for three flowers, two brads and one button. Here is my card:

IMG_0121 (Small)

I used this adorable Manga stamp from Sugar Nellie. Isn’t she just too cute? Here is a close up of her. The DP is from a collection named Far East, awesome papers!

IMG_0122 (Small)

I used the following copics.

  • Skin: E02, Eoo, R20
  • Outfit: E04, 07, 09, 50, 51, 53, 71
  • Shoes and hair: N3, 5, 7, 8
  • Coffee cup: E40,41,42

For the buttons on the dress I used Smooch to give it a little glisten.

IMG_0123 (Small)

My sentiment is from Cindy Echtinaw’s stamp set over at Stamping Scrapping. Just love these little sentiments, they stamp beautifully on the first try!

Here is a pic of the inside, I used the same sketch for my layout. I also used the other half of the flower that is on the front.

Love grows happiness

This card fits into five challenges:

And here is my card.

IMG_0116 (Small)

I used Hello Spring stamp by Stampavie which is now available for pre-order at Stamping Scrapping. My DP is DCWV Stack 6.

IMG_0112 (Small)

The copics I used are:

  • Skin: E02, E00, E000
  • Flowers and top: R81, 83, 85
  • Pants and leaves: YG21, 23, 25
  • Hat: Y21, 23, 26, E53
  • Rocks and ground: C00, C4
  • Hair: N5, 7, 8
  • Shading around image: B0000, 000, 01

IMG_0118 (Small) IMG_0113 (Small)

I added flowers, a button and two brads to the front. The butterflies in the middle of the flowers are Dew Drops Butterflies and are also available at Stamping Scrapping. Cindy has a great selection of items and is always adding new supplies, not like the big chains who keep the same things and you never can really find anything new but that’s not the case at Stamping Scrapping, check it out!

IMG_0114 (Small) (2)

For my new technique I used Smooch which I have never, ever used before. I placed it over the flowers in the stamp and learned that I didn’t need to spend all of my time coloring them as the Smooch takes care of that. Learn something new every day!! It doesn’t show up very well in the picture but it is there. I like the easy way that it applies, just paint it on like fingernail polish.

House Mouse and Friends – challenge 2

Our challenge this time around is to create something related to Happy. Here is my take.

DSC01687 (Small)

I used Love Bunny. She is available at Stamping Scrapping. My DP is from a Secret Santa swap and since it was new I had to use it but I think it fits so perfectly! The flowers are have gems in the centers and the leaves are a MS punch.

Here is a close up of the Love Bunny.

DSC01688 (Small)

Caardvarks Challenge – Wedding

This card is made for the challenge at Caardvarks. The theme this time is wedding and the winner of the challenge will get their card published in Cards Magazine!! Talk about a prize …. can you imagine seeing your card in print? How exciting!!

I used on the stamps from the Whiff of Joy wedding collection. I chose an easel card and made the card out of clear vinyl. I was surprised but it scored and bent very well.

 IMG_0005 (Small)IMG_0012 (Small)

The DP is DCWV Luxury Stack and is very glossy. I used a MS punch for the bottom of the card. I did  try to punch the vinyl but it was too thick so settled on the paper. I added roses and glued on some half pearls.

IMG_0011 (Small) IMG_0008 (Small)

For the back of the carriage I used Flower Soft.

IMG_0007 (Small)

I used the following Copics:

  • Skin: E00, R20
  • Veil, dress and tie: E40, 41, 42
  • Carriage: C0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, R22
  • Hair: Y20, 21, E11, 13, 15

I colored the hearts and veil with my Spica’s. The sparkles from Spica’s do not show up in the picture but it gives it a real low glitter shine.

I used my Cricut and cut Dreams Come True for my sentiment. It is also colored with Spica’s.
