My first airbrush experience

Well, yesterday, I took the Copics certification class in Overland Park, Ks. I met Sally Lynn and she is just a hoot! I also got to meet one of my blogging friends, Lisa Cook. I had a blast! The weather wasn’t great but the three hour hike was worth it.

So, I have had an airbrush kit sitting in my craft room for months afraid to use it. After using the demo at class I thought this isn’t hard, so I took mine out of the package and made a card tonight. I made this for a friend who is finalizing her adoption on Thursday.

My airbrushing technique definitely needs some practice but all in all it didn’t turn out bad. It is definitely a plain card for me with no embellishments but it was fun! So, here is the front.

I used my Cricut Hello Kitty cartridge for the font. I stuck it down with temporary adhesive so that I could spray over the top.  IMG_0135 (Small)IMG_0137 (Small)

I used this adorable House Mouse Baby Blocks stamp. I also used the MS Deco Art continuous punch set.

During class yesterday Sally Lynn showed us that you could use a Spica with the air gun too just by holding it under the little metal nozzle. The picture doesn’t show it very well though.

I sentiment inside just says Congrats with the stamped image on the top of the card. I added some Scent My Cards Baby Powder scent as a finishing touch. Boy, love that smell!!

Great job! I'm hoping to be able to get certified in March if there are openings left. Have the airbrush system and have been afraid to try it. Your card is an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your talent. Jackie

Great job, Steph! Looks like you've got another tool in your creative arsenal! I'm glad you enjoyed the certfication class. And tell your friends to look at http://copicmarker.com/certification/certification-applications-info/. All of the open certification classes are listed there. Sometimes I'm just in town teaching workshops also - and my classes specifically are on my blog at http://www.sallylynnmacdonald.com in the right hand sidebar.
Looking forward to seeing more of your creations!
