A velvety touch

Today I would like to show you my take on creating a velvet look using Copics. When I printed Alexander I really wanted to make his jacket look like Velvet. Velvet is a perfect compliment to red and green.

002

I feel like I achieved the look I wanted, I think his jacket looks like gray crushed velvet.

002 suit

Here is how I achieved this look. First, I colored the jacket with T6, T5, T4 and T3. After that I took T2 and 'dotted' the color over the entire jacket to give  that texture look.  I did the same technique with the sleeve cuffs and collar using N9, N7, N5, N4 and then took N3 and 'dotted' the color over the entire sleeves and collar.

I hope that I have inspired you to give this technique a try, it really is pretty easy and gives a nice looking texture.

I colored three different Tilda’s with Copics, added some flowers and the ribbon.

Here is a pic of the inside without the pages.

Tools of the Trade

We are midway through our challenge at Totally Tilda to see your Tilda creations of Anything but a card.

Our very generous sponsor for this challenge is Sir Stampalot

The Fantastic Prize is 2 Surprise Magnolia stamps.

I made this adorable little tool box and thought the best image was Handy Tilda. She is so cute with her hammer and bibs. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the tool box. It is a very sturdy little box as you can see it is full of containers of Perfect Pearls.

The back side of the tool box has another Handy Tilda along with some flowers.

I stamped Handy Tilda twice onto Make it Colour blending card with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar and colored with the following Copics:

  • Skin – E25, E11, E21, E000, R11
  • Clothes – B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, R27, R24, R22
  • Boots and tools – Y28, Y26, E25, E27, E23, C5, C3, C1
  • Hair – E27, E35, E37, E53

Christmas Blessings

Today I would like to show you a Christmas card I created and guess what? No stamped image. I did however use Copics – to make a clear gem red Smile

Here is a list of supplies I used:

On the inside of the card I used a large tag and a Versamark pad and just pulled it across the tag to get a splotched covering and then embossed it with aged gold enamel. I also stamped the sentiment with the same. It is a little thick but it still works!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting and hope you have a great day.
