Good Luck with Scrappy Frogs

Today starts a new challenge at Scrappy Frogs and our theme is Good Luck. You know, you would think it would be a real simple thing to come up with a good luck card but I sure struggled with this. I just couldn’t get a good picture of what I would do with a good luck card so I settled on a wedding card which all in all is wishing good luck, right?

So, here it is.

IMG_1723 (Small)

I used this new image from Bildmalarna that is only available in their stamp club. Have you seen the new line? It is adorable, just follow the Bildmalarna link and you can see it. Cardstock is DCWV and prints are unknown.

IMG_1725 (Small)

Here is a close up. I used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Bride – YR00, YR000, YR24, YR20
  • Flowers – YR02, YR00, YR000, YG63, Copic white
  • Groom – N8, N6, N4, E35, E33, E50, YR02, YR00

IMG_1726 (Small)

This beautiful flower is made exclusively for Stamping Scrapping and is from the Chocolate and Peach Gardenia assortment.

IMG_1724 (Small)

The stamps above are from Stamping Scrapping Designs a.k.a. SSD and are from the Congratulations set. These are awesome clear stamps and are the best I have yet to work with, you get a clean, great impression with the first stamping.

IMG_1727 (Small)

This one is stamped using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Crushed Olive and Rusty Hinge. The stamps are from the SSD Heart Circle Elements and the sentiment is from an older JustRite set that I have.

IMG_1728 (Small)

Here is the inside of my card.

I am also entering this in the following challenges

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come over to Scrappy Frogs for a little good luck inspiration!

Princess birthday

Hello Friends,

Today I want to show you a card I made for my granddaughter who will be six soon. The theme of her party is princess and this adorable stamp by Sugar Nellie was just perfect. I love these little Home Grown Manga stamps. This one is Princess Manga.

IMG_1707 (Small)

Papers are from my stash. The solid is from DCWV and unsure of what the print is. I used Ranger Stickles around the outside of the stamp and the rose. I also used this for the underneath of the dress, the bodice and the crown. The little hearts on the side are a gift from a fellow blogger.

IMG_1709 (Small)

I used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Hair – E35, YR24, YR20
  • Dress – R85, R83, R81

IMG_1708 (Small)

Close up of the flower all glittered up.

IMG_1710 (Small)

And the inside. I used the Cricut Paper Lace cartridge for the sentiment.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Love is in the Air

Happy  Thursday! Today it is my turn to show you my creation for the love challenge at House Mouse and Friends. I made this card for my husband for our anniversary coming up … 17 years! Wow, that’s a long time but I’m not complaining any.

IMG_1704 (Small)

For my image I used Lovely Confetti. Stamping Scrapping currently doesn’t have this one in stock but can order it for you if you like. Be sure to check out their huge selection of HM stamps here.

IMG_1705 (Small)

I colored these cuties with Copics and used Ranger Stickles Christmas Red for the hearts. Don’t they look so much in love?

IMG_1706 (Small)

For the inside of my card I used the Cricut Beyond Birthdays cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Pretty in Pink at SSCC

Hello Friends,
Today it is my turn to show you my pink creation for Stamping Scrapping Challenge Central a.k.a. SSCC.
First, let me list the ingredients I used.
IMG_1699 (Small) (2)
I wanted to focus on the SSD stamps for this project and as it turns out these little Magnolia Mini’s are perfect to do this with. The detail in these stamps are spectacular and I really didn’t want to cover them up.
IMG_1700 (Small)
See what I mean? I embossed these and the thinness of the lines are perfect for embossing. What I mean about this is when you emboss as the powder heats it expands and becomes wider but because of the thickness of these lines it works perfectly!
IMG_1701 (Small)
It even works that way using the Love You sentiment. And aren’t these new flowers made for Stamping Scrapping a.k.a. SS just the perfect touch? They are gorgeous.
IMG_1702 (Small)
The inside is rather plain after looking at the front but I did want the focus on the front, as most of us do, so I did accomplish my task!
Thanks for stopping by and know that all comments are greatly appreciated even though I can’t always thank you personally!

Love with Gilli at the House of Gilli

At the House of Gilli it is our first challenge … woo hoo!!  Today it is my turn to show you my creation for this recipe challenge. I chose to use Sitting Bride Gilli for my project. She is adorable as a bride and anything else I want her to be.

IMG_1666 (Small)

She is a beauty isn’t she? I dolled her all up in red. I added some fibers from my stash for her boa and a red piece of netting for an accent to her hair. I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 4. I punched out some hearts using a heart punch and also used my MS Heart Border punch. I added a paper rose, some ribbon and a glittery die cut flourish. I also added some Ranger Stickles to the pleat of the dress.

IMG_1668 (Small)

I used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E00, E000, R11
  • Dress – R29, R24, R22, R20
  • Hair – N8, N6, N4

IMG_1669 (Small)

For my sentiment I used SSD a Anglaise Lace Circle die and stamped it using the matching SSD Anglaise Lace Stamps. The word Love is from Gilli and is Love 2. I stamped this with Tim Holtz Distress Barn Door and then went over the word with Ranger Stickles.

IMG_1670 (Small)

And here is the inside.

Spring is about Pastels at Magnolia Stamp Lovers

Today we have a new challenge for you and our theme is Pastels. Now, I don’t know about you, but pastels to me mean spring. Flowers blooming, birds singing, trees blooming.  What does spring mean to you?

IMG_1686 (Small)

I chose Waiting Tilda for my image. Isn’t she a cutie? For my card I made an easel using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur and Grand Labels 1. I used the tutorial on SSDT on making an easel card using the Grand Nestabilities. Be sure to check it out! I also cut out three other sizes and turned two on their sides to get this shape. The butterflies were cut from paper of the same as the base and layers.

IMG_1687 (Small)

Here is a close up of Tilda. I colored her with the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20, R11
  • Dress – B04, B02, B00, B000, RV04, RV02, RV00
  • Hair and shoes – N8, N6, N4, N2

IMG_1688 (Small)

IMG_1689 (Small)

Look at these flowers ….. these are from SSD and are called Color Me White.  These flowers can be sprayed, chalked, anything and Stamping Scrapping has had these specially made for the store. They are awesome to work with and Cindy carries several different sizes.

Love and Glitter

Today starts a new challenge at Scrappy Frogs and it’s all about Love. It is also my turn at Magnolia Stamp Lovers to show you my creation for our glitter challenge

IMG_1660 (Small)

I chose to use three Magnolia images for my card. Sitting Wedding Edwin, Sitting Wedding Tilda and Wedding Arch. Instead of coloring the arch flowers I used paper roses in Ecru, Pink and Deep Red. I also added dimension to the arch and Tilda and Edwin. I added a bow that I made with my bow easy. I added Ranger Stickles around the edge of the card, on Tilda’s dress and on all the roses. I also added some glittered swirls to each side of the card.

IMG_1661 (Small)

I colored Edwin and Tilda with the following Copics.

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Tilda’s dress and roses – R89, R59, R39, R35, R32, R30
  • Edwin’s clothes and arch – E25, E53, E50
  • Hair – E57, E34, E53, E50

Here are the glitter swirls that I used

IMG_1672 (Small)

Here it is. I chose some paper from my stash for the base. I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circles, flowers from my stash, McGill’s pine punch, Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany distress ink pad.

Here is a close up of Daisy.

IMG_1673 (Small)

I colored her with the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20, R11

IMG_1674 (Small)

The sentiment is from the SSD Lacey Squares set and stamped using the Aged Mahogany ink. Now for the surprise.

IMG_1675 (Small)

It is an Easel Post It Note holder …. isn’t that cool? The tutorial is on the StampARTic site.

Here is a pic of it closed.

Nestabilities and Embossing Tutorial

Good morning friends!
Ever wonder how to use your Spellbinders Nestabilities and your Cuttlebug, Sizzix and other embossing folders at the same time to get that double embossed look? Well, I’m going to show you. You can view this tutorial here, Stamping Scrapping Design Team blog and also at Box.net by clicking on my tutorial link on my sidebar.
IMG_1627 (Small)
First step is to pick out your die’s, paper and embossing folders. This example uses the Grand Calibur but I also have done this with the Big Shot.
Using your C-Cutting Plate put your paper down and then the die on top of that with the cutting edges down. If you want to make sure this doesn’t move you can add a couple of pieces of tape the the edge of the Spellbinder die and the paper. Make sure that the tape sticks to the paper on the area that will not be used.
 IMG_1618 (Small)
Next, place your A-Base Plate on top as shown below. Run this through the Grand Calibur to cut the paper.
IMG_1619 (Small)
Life the A-Base Plate off and you will have a cut shape as shown below. Do not remove this from the Spellbinders Nestabilitie.
IMG_1620 (Small)
Now, the picture below shows an open embossing folder. Since it is a clear folder I just laid it on top of the die to show you. When using embossing folders they need to be open and laid flat.
  IMG_1621 (Small)
It is up to you whether you want a raised embossing or a reversed embossing. If you look at the very first picture above you will see I chose to do a raised embossing. The Thank You stands up in the color portion of my paper and is not sunken. You determine this by which side of the embossing folder you use.
Here is the order for placement.
A-Base Plate, Embossing Folder, Die (with paper still in it) flat side on top of embossing folder, tan cutting/rubber mat, B-Embossing Plate.
IMG_1622 (Small)
Before you move on to running it through the Grand Calibur you need to know that this is a very tight fit. Using these pieces will make the rubber mat stretch when it is run through the Grand Calibur. You can experiment with using different plates and foam pieces on top of the rubber cutting mat to give it the desired impression. Shown below is using the pieces noted above and is a very deep embossing.
    IMG_1627 (Small) IMG_1628 (Small)
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Be sure to check back often to see more!
