Shhhh .... it's a surprise

Hi, Friends,

I feel like I have been away forever and looking at the date of my last post it has been some time.
Today I had the luxury of being off of work. With the house all clean and things as they should be it was a day to do nothing but create and create I did. I made this birthday card for a very special someone and I so hope she likes it.

Well, what do you think? I really like how this card turned out. This card style is called a Center Step Card by Frances Byrne. The pattern can be found over at Split Coast Stampers. It is super easy and I just love the way that it looks. This works up great using the Scor-pal.

I chose to use an older Tilda for my image. She is from the Magnolia Fairytale Collection and is called Fairy Dust Tilda. Here is a close up of her.

I used the following Copics to color her with:
  • Skin – E13, E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Clothes – R85, R83, R81
  • Hair – E29, E25, E11, E50
I stamped Tilda using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Copic xpress it blending card. Then I cut her out using Spellbinders Rectangles and my Grand Calibur.

My sentiment is a stamp made by Bildmalarna and was in one of the stamp clubs. There is a large rose and a small rose under the flowers that I have used. I wanted some more dimension so chose these little darlings. Speaking of Bildmalarna, there is a large sale on these pretties at Stamping Scrapping so just click on the Bildmalarna link above and it will take you right to them.

I added two large roses to each side of the front of the card. All of the gold that you see are Ranger Stickles – Champagne. Just love my Stickles, you can use the tiniest line and it won’t squirt all over and ruin your project. They are great for thin line application.

The butterflies are punched using the butterfly punch from McGill. I punched three, two pink and one brown and added more stickles to the wings of the pink ones.

My bow is made using the Bow Easy. This is also a double bow, my first using the actual tool. I will probably be making more of these.

And the inside. This mat, and the one underneath Tilda, was cut using a MS punch. The rose stamps are from Stamping Scrapping Designs and are the newest set – Rose Fleur De Lis - to be introduced.
Phew – a lot of pictures huh?
I’m entering this in the following challenges:
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Hope to see you again soon
