Valentine’s with SSCC
I have a special Valentine at my house and that is my hubby of 17 years (next month) and since this is usually the only Valentine I make it has to be special.
Here is my card. For my image I chose brother and sister Edwin & TIlda. I used Martha Stewart Punches double hearts all around the outside. I used Spellbinders Nested Hearts to place Tilda and Edwin on. The image is a holder to hold the card closed and here is what it looks like opening up. I found the pattern and tutorial for this card at Stampartic.
I added a smaller version on the inside.
I also made an envelope box to place the card in.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Celebrate with House Mouse and Friends
Hello! Today it is my turn, Stephanie, to show you my creation for the House Mouse and Friends celebration challenge.
I used an older House Mouse stamp that I purchased in last year’s Stamp of the Month club. All of these stamps are so adorable! I made this one into a birthday card so my celebration is Birthday.
The papers are by Basic Grey. Be sure to check the store because they have some great collections out there now and just wait until after CHA! This is great paper.
I stamped the sentiment using Tim Holtz Broken China and Tim Holtz Crushed Olive.
Here is a close up of my little guy. I colored him with the following Copics:
- Mouse – E59, E57, E55, E53, E50, R00
- Flowers, leaves & grass – YG97, YG95, YG93, B99, B97, B95 & B93
And a pic of the inside of the card.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting! Hugs!!

I stamped the stars, covered them with Ranger Stickles and then cut out. My bows are made using the Bow easy.
Tilda was stamped on Copic X-press with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copics.

New Baby Boy
I have this adorable stamp from Whiff of Joy called Willow holding baby. I just love this stamp and seldom have the need to use it. It is a joy to color and it is a great learning tool for mastering your folds and shading skills …. lol!
I am entering this in the following challenges:
- Sunday’s with Crissy – Ribbon
- Penny’s Paper Crafty – Anything goes
- Whiff of Joy – Chocolate, Teal and cream
- ABC – M for magical (she is isn’t she?!) and the sketch
For my card I used a MS punch and the Tim Holtz Tim Holtz Sizzix Elegant Flourishes die and these adorable little flower pack from SSD. They can be painted, chalked or airbrushed but the base color was perfect for this card. These are available like this or in several different colors. SSD has created their own line of flowers – be sure to check them out here, they are gorgeous!! I added some pearls from my stash.
The little charm I purchased at Michael’s. Since the card is kind of feminine I wanted to make sure it showed somewhere that it was for a boy.
Here is a close up of Willow. I colored her with the following Copics:
- Skin – E13, E11, E00
- Hair – N7, N5, N3
- Dress – BG13, BG11, BG10, BG000
- Baby Blanket – BG48, BG45, BG11
Here is the inside. So, here is my story as to why there are signatures on this if I just made it. Well, if you are a follower … or even if you look down a few posts for the baby girl card … you will know that I recently made a baby card in pinks for a co-worker. Guess what? They are not having a girl. I could have sworn it was but I was wrong so I move the signature mat from the other card and added it here. It will continue getting routed at work when I return on Tuesday and both sides will be full of signatures.
Thanks again for stopping by to visit!

Edwin says Happy Birthday
My grandson, Skylar, celebrates his 8th birthday soon so I made him a birthday card. I found several challenges to help my inspiration. Since the list is rather long I will list them first.
- Creative Card Crew – Male card
- Cards for men – Party
- Craft your passion – Buttons
- Simon Says Stamp & Show – polka dots (paper)
- Stamp with fun – sketch
- Cuttlebug spot - childrens games
- The Crazy Challenge – buttons
- Simon Says – 3 items – brads, buttons, punch/die cuts
- Cute Card Thursday – 3 of anything – 1 image, 2 pieces of ribbon, 3 brads
- Charisma – Numbers
- All Sorts – male
- Tellen’s place – Polka dots
- Delightful Sketches – Celebration
So, here is my card.
My background paper strips are basic grey and the Bingo is Core’dinations. To impress the Bingo on my paper I used my Tim Holtz Texture Fade Bingo and ran it through my Big Shot. I sanded it using my trusted sanding block from Stamping Scrapping. Man, that block last a long time and it’s even washable!! Then I made a tag using my Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio and stamped Happy Birthday in Memento Tuxedo Black. I added some brads and buttons to the card. I cut the 8 out using my Cricut and Doodletype cartridge.
I always keep the rubber from my stamps that I trim and added some of that behind Edwin and the 8 to lift it off the card. This works great to use for dimension.
My image is Edwin wants a hug and he is available for preorder at Stamping Scrapping. I colored him with the following Copics.
- Skin – E13, E11, E00, E000, R21, R20
- Clothes – B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, YG25, YG13, YG00, YG99, YG97, YG95, YG93
- Shoes and hair – E37, E35, E33, E31
For the 8 I threaded a long piece of ribbon through both holes and hooked the rubber to it on the back. At first I was going to have Edwin hold it in front of him but then you couldn’t see his cute little outfit so I decided to put it over head, kind of like a balloon.
The inside of the card uses the same patterened paper as the front and also used a sentiment from Stampin UP.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting. I love all of your comments and they are very much appreciated!!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl
Well, no work for me today, I had the day off so I spent my day making a card. Sad, but it did take me most of the day. I also did laundry (one of my least favorite chores).
I decided to look for some challenges to enter my card in and I found 14 … wow, been a long time since I entered that many.
So, here is my card.
I chose to use Baby Tilda for my image. This Tilda stamp is one of my first Magnolia’s and I love her. I don’t get to use her too often but she always makes me smile!
My papers are from Debbie Mumm, it’s an older paper pack that I picked up at Joann’s. I used my Grand Calibur to cut out my Spellbinders Grand Standard Circles and Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circles. This machine sure makes for easy cutting being able to cut so many at one time and the crank is so easy! My ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon’s monthly kit. I just love receiving my package every month, I love ribbon. I unbundle it and hang it using my Ribbon Ring.
Here is a close up of baby Tilda.
I colored her using the following Copics:
- Skin – E11, E02, E00, E000, E0000, R20
- Outfit – R85, R83, R81, RV00, YG17, YG25, YG11
- Hair – YR24, YR23, YR21
I added Ranger Stickles to her wings and around the white Lacey Circle die. Not sure if you can see the sparkle but this stuff really sparkles.
I added some lilies and used McGill’s Pine Punch. I also added Stickles to the pine punches but it doesn’t really show up.
I tried a new fold on this card. I was going for something dramatic but it didn’t turn out that way so I had to settle for an overlap. It’s kind of hard to see in this picture but if you look at the first one you can see that it ties shut with the ribbon.
Here is the inside. It’s hard to see in the pic but it says Happy Birthday Baby Girl.
OK, so now for the challenges this qualifies for:
- Crafty Ann’s – Ring in the new but don’t ring out the old – Used my Tilda stamp and my new ribbon
- Daring Cardmakers – 1 image, 2 pieces of ribbon and three papers
- Stamp Something – Anything goes
- AiFactory – Anything goes
- Melgen’s Designs – Square or circle – card is 6 X 6
- Tip Top Tuesday – Anything goes
- Aly’s Sunday Challenge – Anything with wings – Tilda has wings and the paper has bugs with wings
- Oldie but a Goodie – Bright and Cheerful
- Creative Card Crew – folds
- Fairytale Challenge – flowers
- Quirky crafts – spring (paper has spring bugs) and pink and green
- Sunday’s with Crissy – ribbon
- Totally Tilda – baby Tilda
- Sketch and Stash – sketch, new ribbon and older Magnolia stamp
Phew!! Thanks for stopping by!

Whiff of Joy sketch challenge
I made this card for the current sketch challenge going on at Whiff of Joy. I love their stamps and do not have the opportunity to use them as much as I would like. I dusted off this cutie and put her to paper.
I just love the detail in these stamps and they are so fun to color. Here is a close up of her:
And here is the inside.
Thanks for stopping by and sorry for the short post. Have a great day!
Sentiments at Scrappy Frogs
Hello Friends
Over at Scrappy Frogs we have started a new challenge and it’s all about sentiments. Sentiments are often the last thing you think about when making a card, but they are an important part.
For my card I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circles. I cut and embossed these using my Grand Calibur. Boy is this a nice machine, I cut all four of these at the same time and to top it off I double cut the two sizes of cardstock with no problems! If you don’t have one of these I would suggest checking into it, it is an awesome tool!
For my sentiments I used SSD Lacey Circles stamps for the outer circle stamp and the Thinking of You. For the flowers above and below my sentiment I used SSD Beaded Circles Stamp. The white in the circles are pearls I put on using my I-Rock tool. This is another great tool to have, I just love it. There is a fast setting glue on the back of these, you place them where you want them, turn on your I-Rock, apply pressure and you’re done! Love it!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting and hope to see you over at Scrappy Frogs!

Sugar Bowl Embossing & Catered Crop Challenge
I used Bloom & Grow for my image and some wonderful colored paper in blues, oranges and pinks. I used my Bloom cuttlebug folder for the embossing and added some ribbons and a few rhinestones to the front.
I colored the image using Copics and coordinated her with the paper.
For the inside of the card I embossed the a mat and added the below Just Rite sentiment along with a couple more rhinestones.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting!
Thinking of You with Tilda and Edwin
I wanted something bright so I chose this beautiful flower paper with yellow and blue as my main colors. I colored them with Copics and matted them using my Nestabilities Big Scallop Circles. For my sentiment I used SSD Lacey Circles stamps and added a few yellow rhinestones. The flower is from my stash and I added some Yellow Chandelier Garland.
Here is a close up of Edwin and Tilda.
A close up of the sentiment
And the inside journal panel.
Thanks for stopping by and hope that you will join us at SSCC in 2011!
